The Complete Uzio Integration Guide

If your organization uses Uzio for HR and payroll, you already have the employee data your benefits carriers need. The missing piece is getting that data to flow automatically instead of requiring someone to manually pull reports and distribute them. Every manual handoff is an opportunity for errors and delays that compound over time.
Connecting Uzio to Benefit Cloud is one of the simplest integrations we offer. It requires a single API key, no OAuth setup, and no coordination with a third-party representative. Once you generate the key and submit it, Benefit Cloud handles the rest, including looking up your Company ID directly via the Uzio API so you do not have to track it down yourself.
Here is the complete process. Most teams finish this in under 10 minutes.
Step 1: Confirm Employer Admin Access
Uzio API keys can only be generated by employer administrators. Standard Uzio users do not have access to the API Keys option. Before you start, confirm you have the right access level.
Sign into the Uzio employer portal at https://employer.uzio.com.
Click the Profile Menu in the top-right corner of the screen.
Check whether you see an "API Keys" option in that menu.
If you do not see the API Keys option, you do not have employer-admin access. Ask your Uzio administrator to either grant you admin rights or generate the API key on your behalf.
Step 2: Generate Your Uzio API Key
Once you have confirmed admin access, generating the API key takes just a few clicks.
Log into the Uzio employer portal at https://employer.uzio.com.
Open the Profile Menu in the top-right corner.
Select "API Keys" from the menu.
Generate a new API key. Copy it immediately and store it in a secure location such as a password manager.
A note on data scope: Uzio API keys inherit the company scope of the employer admin who generated them. Benefit Cloud will only be able to access data for the companies associated with your admin account. If you manage multiple companies in Uzio, confirm that the admin account you are using has access to all of them.
Step 3: Submit the API Key to Benefit Cloud
Share your API key securely through the Benefit Cloud portal at app.benefitcloud.io/resources/guides/integrations/uzio. All values are encrypted immediately on submission. Do not send API keys over unencrypted email.
Log into the Benefit Cloud portal.
Navigate to Resources and select the Uzio Integration Guide.
Use the secure form to submit your API key.
Submit the form. Benefit Cloud will confirm receipt and look up your Company ID directly via the Uzio API, so you do not need to provide it separately.
Step 4: Integration Complete
Here is what happens after submission:
Benefit Cloud uses your API key to authenticate with Uzio and retrieve your Company ID automatically.
Our team configures data mapping based on your feed requirements.
You receive confirmation once the integration is fully active.
Data syncs automatically on your agreed schedule from that point forward.
