Oracle HCM Cloud uses OAuth 2.0 with the client credentials flow. You need your tenant's REST server URL and OAuth credentials registered in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, or IDCS. An Oracle Cloud administrator is typically required. Here is how.

Step 1: Identify Your Oracle HCM REST Server URL

Oracle HCM Cloud provides a unique REST API base URL for each tenant. You will find it in your Oracle Cloud account details.

1. Log in to Oracle HCM Cloud as an administrator.

2. Locate your REST server URL, which follows the pattern https://<tenant-name>.fa.us2.oraclecloud.com, though the exact domain varies by region.

3. You can also find it under Help, then About This Page, then Technical Details.

4. Copy the full base URL, including https://.

Step 2: Create an OAuth 2.0 Application in Oracle IDCS

Register a confidential application in Oracle Identity Cloud Service and grant it appropriate read-only scopes. IDCS generates an OAuth Client ID and Client Secret for the application. Coordinate with your Oracle Cloud administrator to complete this step, and keep the credentials secure until you submit them.

Step 3: Submit Your Credentials to Benefit Cloud

Submit the REST Server URL, OAuth Client ID, and Client Secret through the secure Benefit Cloud portal, where they are encrypted on submission. Benefit Cloud uses the Oracle HCM Cloud REST API in read-only mode to retrieve HR and payroll data for benefits processing. We do not modify records.
