The Complete TriNet Integration Guide

TriNet takes a lot of HR weight off the companies it serves, but benefits data still has to reach carriers accurately, and by hand that is where things break. An enrollment that never lands, a termination stuck in limbo, a deduction file that does not match: each one starts as a small manual miss and ends as a billing dispute or a coverage gap.

Connecting TriNet to Benefit Cloud automates that flow. Employee and payroll information moves to your benefits ecosystem on a schedule, carrier feeds stay current, and your team stops copying records between systems.

TriNet enables integrations through its partner team rather than a self-service developer portal. This covers the TriNet HR Platform, formerly Zenefits. Once access is on, you share your account details and Benefit Cloud handles the connection. Here is how.

Step 1: Contact Your TriNet Representative

TriNet enables third-party integrations through its integrations and partner team. Provisioning may take a few business days.

  1. Reach out to your TriNet account manager or representative.

  2. Request an integration or data connection for benefits administration with Benefit Cloud.

  3. TriNet confirms the access method, typically OAuth-based API access.

  4. Note any reference number or app registration details they provide.

Step 2: Gather Your Connection Details

Collect what Benefit Cloud needs: your Company ID, the account representative we coordinate with, any API credentials such as a client ID and secret that TriNet issued, and the enablement reference number that speeds up confirmation.

Step 3: Submit Your Details to Benefit Cloud

Share those details through the secure Benefit Cloud portal, where they are stored securely. Benefit Cloud uses TriNet data in read-only mode to retrieve employee and payroll information for benefits processing. We do not modify records.

What Happens Next

Benefit Cloud can coordinate directly with your TriNet representative, tests the connection, maps your data to your feed requirements, and confirms once the integration is active. Your data then syncs automatically going forward.
