The Complete SAP SuccessFactors Integration Guide

SAP SuccessFactors is the system of record for enterprises with complex, multi-carrier benefits, and complexity is exactly what makes a manual handoff dangerous. When enrollment and deduction data has to be reconciled by hand across many carriers, the errors are harder to spot and more expensive to correct. At this scale, reliability is not a nice-to-have.
Connecting SAP SuccessFactors to Benefit Cloud gives that data a secure, automated path to every carrier you work with. HR and employee records flow on a schedule, feeds stay accurate, and your team stops manually reconciling files.
SAP SuccessFactors authenticates API clients with X.509 certificates. Benefit Cloud holds the certificate, so you do not generate one yourself. Your SAP administrator registers our certificate and generates an API Key that you then submit. Because of that, this integration starts with a quick note to us.
Step 1: Contact Benefit Cloud Before You Begin
Benefit Cloud provides and manages the X.509 certificate lifecycle. You do not need to generate, store, or renew it. Reach out first so we can supply the certificate your SAP administrator needs.
Email solutions@benefitcloud.io or call (704) 280-2972 to request the Benefit Cloud X.509 certificate.
Share the certificate with your SAP SuccessFactors administrator, who registers it in the platform.
Once registered, the SAP admin generates an API Key tied to the certificate.
Proceed to the next step once your SAP admin has the API Key ready.
Step 2: Register the API Key in SAP SuccessFactors
Your SAP administrator registers the Benefit Cloud certificate under Manage OAuth2 Client Applications and generates the API Key from there. This keeps you in control while minimizing the technical work on your side.
Step 3: Submit Your API Key to Benefit Cloud
Submit the API Key through the secure Benefit Cloud portal, where it is encrypted on submission. You can also include your SAP SuccessFactors Company ID, though Benefit Cloud can look it up if you do not have it. Benefit Cloud uses the SuccessFactors OData API in read-only mode to retrieve HR and employee data. We do not modify records.
What Happens Next
Benefit Cloud reviews and tests the connection, coordinates directly with your SAP administrator if needed, maps your data to your feed requirements, and confirms once the integration is active. Your data then syncs automatically going forward.
