The Complete Sage HR Integration Guide

Sage HR gives you a clean system of record for your people. The trouble starts when that record has to reach your carriers by hand. A new hire entered in Sage HR does not enroll itself with the carrier, and every manual step between the two is a chance for a coverage gap or a deduction that does not match.
Connecting Sage HR to Benefit Cloud removes those steps. Employee data flows automatically to your benefits ecosystem, carrier feeds stay current, and your team stops re-keying the same records.
Sage HR uses a simple API key model. You enable API access in your settings, copy the key, and submit it. Here is how.
Step 1: Open the Sage HR API Settings
Sage HR exposes API access from your account settings. Sign in as an admin to get started.
Log in to Sage HR.
Select your name in the upper-right corner.
Go to Settings, then Integrations, then API.
Step 2: Enable API Access
Turn on API access if it is not already active. Sage HR generates an API key tied to the account that enables it. Copy the key and keep it somewhere secure until you submit it.
Step 3: Submit Your Credentials to Benefit Cloud
Share the API key through the secure Benefit Cloud portal, where it is encrypted immediately. The key inherits the permissions of the account that enabled it, so Benefit Cloud reads only what that account can view. We access Sage HR through the API only, never your portal or admin settings.
What Happens Next
Benefit Cloud reviews and tests the connection, maps your data to your feed requirements, and confirms when the integration is active. Your data then syncs automatically on the schedule you set.
