The Complete Rippling Integration Guide

Rippling pulls payroll, HR, and IT into one place, which makes it a strong system of record. That strength turns into risk when the benefits handoff is still manual. An enrollment that never reaches the carrier or a termination stuck in limbo does not announce itself. It shows up later as a billing problem or a member calling about coverage they thought they had.
Connecting Rippling to Benefit Cloud gives that data a direct, automated path to your carriers. Employee, payroll, and benefit records flow on a schedule, feeds stay accurate, and your team stops copying data between systems.
Rippling uses a scoped API token model, so you control exactly what Benefit Cloud can read. The token is generated from Rippling's developer tools. Here is how to create it.
Step 1: Open Rippling API Tokens
Rippling lets you create API tokens from the developer tools. Sign in as an admin.
Sign in to Rippling.
Go to Tools, then Developer, then API Tokens.
Click Create API Token.
Step 2: Name the Token and Select Scopes
Give the token a clear name such as Benefit Cloud Integration, then choose scopes that cover employee, payroll, and benefit data. Scopes limit the token to only the data those permissions allow. If you are unsure which to pick, Benefit Cloud will help you choose the right ones.
Name the token so it is easy to identify later.
Select scopes for employee, payroll, and benefit data.
Copy the token immediately. Rippling shows it only once.
Step 3: Submit Your Credentials to Benefit Cloud
Submit the token through the secure Benefit Cloud portal, where it is encrypted on submission. Benefit Cloud can read only the data the token's scopes permit and connects through the API only, with no access to your Rippling portal or admin settings.
What Happens Next
Benefit Cloud tests the connection, maps your data to your feed requirements, and confirms once the integration is live. Your data then syncs automatically going forward.
