Managing a distributed team through Remote already takes the friction out of hiring across borders. The benefits side should feel the same way. When enrollments and terminations still get copied by hand into carrier systems, one missed update can mean a member without coverage or a carrier that keeps billing for someone who left.
Connecting Remote to Benefit Cloud creates a secure, automated channel between your HR platform and your benefits ecosystem. Employee data flows on a schedule, carrier feeds stay current, and the manual re-entry disappears.
Remote uses a simple API token model, so setup is quick. There is no OAuth redirect to configure. Most teams finish this in a few minutes. Here is how.
Step 1: Open the Remote API Integration
Remote exposes API access from your company settings. Sign in as an admin and open the integrations area to begin.
Sign in to your Remote account.
Go to Company, then Company Settings, then Integrations and APIs, then Integrations.
Select Remote API.
Step 2: Generate Your API Token
Create a token dedicated to the Benefit Cloud connection. The token inherits the data permissions of the account that generates it, so use an account with the access your benefits feeds require.
Generate a new API token from the Remote API area.
Copy the token immediately. Remote shows it only once, so if you navigate away you will need to generate a new one.
Store it temporarily in a secure place such as a password manager until you submit it.
Step 3: Submit Your Credentials to Benefit Cloud
Share the token through the secure Benefit Cloud portal. All values are encrypted immediately on submission. Benefit Cloud accesses Remote only through the API and can read only what the token's account is authorized to view. We have no access to your Remote portal or admin settings.
What Happens Next
Benefit Cloud reviews and tests the connection, configures your data mapping, and confirms once the integration is fully active. Your employee data then syncs automatically going forward.
