The Complete Personio Integration Guide

Personio holds a detailed picture of your workforce, which is exactly why the benefits handoff matters so much. When employee changes live in Personio but reach carriers by hand, a single missed update can leave someone without coverage or keep a carrier billing for a person who has left.
Connecting Personio to Benefit Cloud gives that data a secure, automated path to your benefits ecosystem. Records flow on a schedule, carrier feeds stay accurate, and the manual re-entry goes away.
Personio uses a custom-integration credential pair. You create an integration, grant it read access to the employee attributes you choose, and Personio generates a Client ID and Client Secret. Here is how.
Step 1: Create a Custom Integration in Personio
Personio lets you create custom integrations from the Marketplace. Sign in as an admin and set one up for Benefit Cloud.
Sign in to your Personio account.
Go to Marketplace, then Connected Integrations.
Create a Custom Integration.
Name it clearly, for example Benefit Cloud Integration.
Step 2: Grant Access and Generate Credentials
Grant the integration read access to the employee attributes your benefits feeds require. The integration can only reach the data you select here. Personio then generates a Client ID and Client Secret. Copy the secret immediately, because it is shown only once.
Step 3: Submit Your Credentials to Benefit Cloud
Submit the Client ID and Client Secret through the secure Benefit Cloud portal, where both are encrypted on submission. Benefit Cloud reads only the attributes you granted and connects through the API only, never your Personio portal or admin settings.
What Happens Next
Benefit Cloud reviews and tests the connection, maps your data to your feed requirements, and confirms once the integration is active. Your data then syncs automatically on the schedule you set.
