The Complete Insperity Integration Guide

Insperity handles a lot for the companies it serves, but when your benefits data still moves by hand, the gaps show up where they hurt. A new hire who never reaches the carrier. A termination that keeps billing. A deduction amount that does not line up with what the carrier has on file. Every one of those is a manual step waiting to go wrong.

Connecting Insperity to Benefit Cloud closes that gap. Once the API connection is live, employee and benefits data flows straight from Insperity to your carriers on a set schedule, and your team stops re-keying the same information into portal after portal.

Insperity provisions API access through your representative, so the first move is a request rather than a self-serve token. The steps below walk through requesting access, handling the API Terms of Use, and gathering the IP addresses Insperity asks for.

Step 1: Request API Access from Insperity

Insperity turns on API access through your assigned representative. Start by letting them know you want to connect Benefit Cloud as a third-party integration for benefits administration.

  1. Log in to your Insperity account.

  2. Contact your Insperity representative and request API access for a Benefit Cloud integration.

  3. Download and complete the API Terms of Use Agreement if Insperity provides one.

  4. Have an authorized company representative sign the agreement.

Step 2: Provide the Integration IP Addresses

Insperity restricts API access to specific IP addresses for security. Benefit Cloud will give you the IP addresses or ranges the integration uses. You pass those to your Insperity representative so they can add them to the allowlist. These go to Insperity, not back to us.

Step 3: Submit Your Credentials to Benefit Cloud

Once your access request and signed agreement are approved, Insperity issues an API key. Submit that key through the secure Benefit Cloud portal. Do not send credentials over unencrypted email. Everything is encrypted the moment it is submitted.

The credentials Insperity issues are scoped to exactly what your representative approves and locked to the IP addresses you provide. Benefit Cloud reads only the employee and benefits data that scope allows. We have no access to your Insperity portal, user interface, or admin settings.

What Happens Next

After you submit the key, Benefit Cloud reviews and tests the connection, maps your data to your feed requirements, and confirms once the integration is active. From there, your data syncs automatically on the schedule you agree to.
