The Complete ADP RUN Integration Guide

ADP RUN is built for small businesses, and that design choice shapes how you connect it. Unlike Workforce Now or Vantage, RUN does not expose a self-serve API or a developer portal. There are no API keys you can hand us directly. That does not mean you are stuck. It means the connection goes through ADP's partner channel or a scheduled file feed instead.

The good news is that there are three paths that work in practice, and you only need to pick one. Each one gives Benefit Cloud ongoing access to your RUN data so your carrier feeds stay current without manual re-entry. This guide lays out all three so you can choose the one that fits.

The Three Paths at a Glance

Most RUN clients land on the scheduled report export. The Marketplace connector is the ideal long-term setup but is not available on every plan. Adding a read-only user is the fastest way to start and can run alongside either of the others while you set them up.

• ADP Marketplace data connector: low, one-time effort, automated and ongoing. The ideal long-term setup where your plan supports it.

• Scheduled report export by SFTP or email: low effort after setup, refreshed daily or weekly. The right fit for most RUN clients.

• Additional read-only user in ADP RUN: the lowest effort and quickest to start, good for on-demand pulls while another path is set up.

Step 1: Understand How ADP RUN Is Different

The larger ADP products have an API Central where you can self-serve credentials. RUN does not. Every workable path goes through ADP's partner channel, a scheduled file export, or granting Benefit Cloud read-only portal access. Because of that, you will be making a request to your ADP RUN representative for whichever path you choose. We cannot turn this on from our side without ADP's involvement.

Step 2: Pick Your Path and Contact Your ADP RUN Representative

Reach out to your dedicated ADP RUN account rep. If you do not have one, use the support number in your RUN portal, and be specific that this is a partner integration or data export question, not a payroll question.

• For the scheduled report export, ask your rep to set up a recurring export of employee and payroll data delivered by SFTP or email.

• For additional-user access, add Benefit Cloud as a read-only user so we can pull data on demand.

• For the Marketplace connector, ask whether your plan supports the data connector and request that it be enabled.

Step 3: Submit Your Confirmation

Once you have taken the action for your chosen path, submit your confirmation through the secure Benefit Cloud portal. There are no technical credentials to enter for RUN. You simply tell us which path you took and share any details your rep provided, and Benefit Cloud picks it up from there.

A Few Common Questions

Additional users are generally free. The Marketplace connector and scheduled exports may carry a fee depending on your plan, so ask your rep upfront. On timing, an additional user can be same day, a scheduled report usually takes one to two weeks, and the Marketplace connector typically takes two to four weeks.
